Fabioso makes a good impression

Hickstead, Sussex 30 April

"PROFESSIONAL" sums up the picture painted by Paul Hayler at Hickstead. He not only won three tests on Sue Broom's talented seven-year-old Fabioso, but also scored a secnd and third in the large medium classes on Dee Lousada's 18-year-old former racehorse, Mr Bojangles.

Fabioso's grand finale was to take the advance medium qualifier on the day's highest score of 73.95%.

Liz West, who judged his medium qualifier, commented:"I loved the expression and energy of Fabioso. He had moments of tension, but Pau kept him in self-carriage and showed his skill as a rider to keep the fluency".

Paul and Sue Broom found Fabioso by Flammengold (Floristan) in Germany when he was three. Paul said:"Fabioso finds it very easy to extend and collect, but we're taking our time and plan to compete him at prix st georges [PSG] next year."
